Managing Marketing Communications
You can opt out of promotional communications at any time without deleting your account:
Email Unsubscribe: Select the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of any marketing email received from MedExpress Canada.
Contact Support: Reach out to the Customer Care team by email, phone, or live chat to request removal from promotional distribution lists.
Requesting Account Deletion
Account deletion eligibility depends on whether an order has been approved or a prescription issued through MedExpress Canada.
Accounts with No Order History
If you created an account but have never placed an order and no prescription was approved or dispatched:
Process: Contact Customer Care to request permanent account deletion.
Timeline: Deletion is typically processed within 7 business days. You may receive automated messages while processing is finalized.
Accounts with Approved Orders (Medical Record Retention)
If you have placed an order that was approved by a healthcare clinician, medical record privacy and healthcare regulations in Canada require MedExpress Canada to retain patient medical records securely.
Retention Period: Accounts associated with an approved prescription must be retained for 10 years from the date of your last order.
Legal Restriction: Because of Canadian regulatory record-keeping obligations, accounts within this 10-year period cannot be permanently erased immediately.
Options During the 10-Year Retention Period
If your account falls within the mandatory 10-year medical record retention window, Customer Care can perform the following actions:
Unsubscribe from Marketing: Remove your email address and phone number from all promotional lists.
Block or Disable Account: Deactivate your account dashboard access so no further communications are sent, while your medical records remain securely archived in compliance with privacy regulations.
How to Submit a Request
To request account deletion, marketing opt-out, or account deactivation, contact Customer Care with the following details:
Account Email: The email address associated with your MedExpress Canada account.
Order History Status: State whether you have ever placed an order.
Specific Request: Clearly state whether you are requesting Full Account Deletion (no order history) or Account Deactivation & Marketing Opt-Out (order history within 10 years).
